SIRMET

Since 1986, Sirmet has been involved in the treatment of electrical and electronic waste from a wide range of industrial sectors.
WEEE management is certified in accordance with European regulations and, thanks to an advanced recycling facility, the company is able to efficiently dispose of and recover electronic components and materials.

Mission, Vision & Values

With the introduction of the WEEE Directive in 2005, the concept of extended producer responsibility began to come together: companies are required to manage the entire life cycle of their products, from production to the end of their functional life and through the recycling process.

The growing awareness of environmental issues has made it necessary to establish new certified procedures for WEEE treatment, as well as the recycling of components that can still generate value.

The goal of Sirmet is therefore to reduce the environmental impact of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Recovering high percentages of metals, plastics, and components supports the transition toward a Circular Economy, extending the life cycle of products and contributing to an increasingly sustainable production model.

Integrated Policy, legislative decree 231/01 model and Legality Rating

Being competitive means striving to differentiate services and products through a continuous effort to improve company processes in terms of quality, safety and environmental impact. Particular attention is given to processes related to the treatment and recovery of waste from end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment, such as refrigeration units, air conditioners, monitors, PCs, and more, as well as procurement activities, maintenance operations, monitoring, and the reduction of resource consumption (including fuel). The objective set by the Management is to guide the commitment of all personnel toward careful management of matters related to Quality, Workplace Safety, and Environmental Protection.

In pursuing these objectives, Sirmet has adopted a Corporate Code of Ethics and an Organizational Model in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001, and has obtained a Legality Rating of **+.

Who we work with

Sirmet specializes in the disposal of professional WEEE, and therefore serves companies that need to safely dispose of waste from electronic equipment used in production, administrative, and economic activities. Unlike household WEEE, professional WEEE cannot be disposed of at municipal recycling centers, but requires specific recovery processes carried out by qualified operators. Sirmet also collaborates with Collective Supply Chain Systems (WEEE Consortia) for the management of household-origin WEEE.

Sirmet’s services are available to VAT-registered businesses, artisans, small enterprises, companies, and multinational corporations.

Our history

Sirmet was founded from an entrepreneurial vision in the early 1980s, a period marked by strong growth in electronics and, consequently, in the use of electronic components across every industrial sector. Applications ranged from military technology to telecommunications and consumer electronics.

However, this production boom also generated a large quantity of waste, resulting from manufacturing errors, malfunctions, surplus inventory, and the rapid obsolescence of equipment.

By observing this phenomenon, the idea emerged to recover this waste and recycle its components, reintroducing them into the production cycle.
